Prayer Letter April 2014

Leadership Akademie
We asked for prayer as the team hosted a yearly event to train and encourage young Christian Austrian men and women who work with youth in their churches. The event is called Leadership Akademie and this was the first time since we have been here that our entire team worked together on a project. It was held at our church and Matt did an excellent job of capturing some of the highlights in a short video. Check it out! The speaker was excellent and God was at work!! Please pray that God continues to equip and strengthen these young men and women. |

Visit from John Brown and Chris Cobble
We also told you that we would have a visit from John Brown and Chris Cobble. Although their trip was short, the discussions were rich and full. Some surreal times for me were team devotionals sitting in our living room (who knew five years ago that God would bring us to this place??), and Chris praying for us as a team at the top of hill overlooking Vienna. John impressed upon us how great God has been to break our hearts and the hearts of our supporters for this place, to provide all that we need to bring us here and to continue to provide for us, to help us learn this language that is so different for us…..our time ended up thanking and praising God, for He indeed loves the people here, and has chosen many, many of them as His! Thank you for being part of this with us!!

Language Learning
God continues to provide opportunities to share spiritual things with our language partners that continually surprise us. Pray that we make the most of those opportunities! The more they know us the more they ask. This week Lori was asked about her priorities…..”So God is the MOST important thing in your life?” Pray that our language grows in ways that will allow us to share on a heart level.

If you want to understand how hard language learning can be, listen to these German folks try and say a simple English word. We sympathize with them.

Recent Ministry Travels
God has opened doors for us to travel to countries surrounding Vienna as well and blessed these trips. Tim has recently spent time with team mates in Slovenia, Croatia and Bulgaria. We will definitely be returning to both Croatia and Bulgaria where they were especially interested in setting up leadership training and discipleship classes for both men and women. Please continue to pray for these opportunities, that we are diligent to foster the budding relationships and that we would find faithful, available and teachable nationals to build into in these places.

Jim and Brenda Brosch
Jim and Brenda are now in Denton because their three month tourist visas are no longer valid. They continue to wait for news from the Immigration office regarding their long term residency permits/visas. Although the immigration office has started processing the applicants, Jim and Brenda have not yet heard if they will receive this type of visa. Pray that God will be at work in this situation, and that if this door closes, that He will open another. Pray for patience and peace for the entire team and especially for the Brosch’s as we wait ultimately on God.
