PRAYER UPDATE AUGUST 2014
SELIG -------- BLESSED -------- BLOWN AWAY!
English Teenager Camp
Last month we asked you to pray for the English Teenager Camp the young people from both Austria and DBC put on. We were blown away by what God did in and through those young people! We asked you to pray that some would come to know Jesus this week and several did! Many more lives were changed and God was indeed glorified!
We had the opportunity to help the team behind the scenes with meals as the Austrian and DBC leaders got to know each other and completed plans prior to leaving Vienna for the start of camp. Every evening dinner was served family style outside at picnic tables in the beautiful courtyard of the church where they stayed.

We were also blessed to be able to drive supplies out to camp and then run errands for them the first couple of days. We were there long enough to witness amazing times of worship, students bonding during shared meals, games played, quiet time discussions, and testimonies shared. Excitement was in the air as many of these campers return year after year and it becomes like a reunion for them. As we left for the train station, they were setting off on a hike up the mountain together.
We met back up with the team at the train station in Vienna on Saturday and were honored to spend the evening with them hearing story after story of God’s work during the week. This was SUCH a great encouragement to us!! If you get the opportunity to speak with one of the youth that went on this trip, ask them to tell you about it!
We were impressed by a few things in particular:
We were impressed by a few things in particular:
- The vulnerability of the leaders from both countries. Walls came down, and students spoke openly and from the heart about how God is working in their lives and sanctifying them.
- The unity among the leaders despite the language differences. One Austrian young leader said, “It doesn’t matter what language you speak, it matter WHOSE language you speak”. She talked about the love of Christ being the unifying factor for the two teams.
- The desire for God to receive ALL the glory. The repeated theme that God was the one that draws the people to himself; that it is not about us and what we do.
- Praise God with us for the work He did during these two short weeks.
- Praise God for how He used these young people to encouraged us.
- Pray for diligence and creativity in following up with the campers who attended ETC.
Updates on some of our recent Prayer Requests
Although Jim and Brenda Brosch's long term visa issue has long yet been resolved, we are confident that a solution can be found. We are excited that they can return to Vienna on a tourist visa for three months and will rejoin us here September 1st.
