PRAYER UPDATE SEPT/OCT 2014
What have Tim and Lori been up to these days?
- House Guests - First came Mike Griffis and Janis Saville from the SERVE office, who helped us think through some things well. Then we hosted Tim’s college roommate and his wife; what a joy it was to deepen that friendship. And finally, a young couple came from Denton who were such a blessing to us in so many ways.
- God used these visits from people from the states to challenge us to deeper walks with our Savior, to respond to others with grace and to see our city through fresh eyes. So very encouraging.
- Lori took the A2 language test in August and passed. Tim took it in September and is anticipating a positive outcome, but will not get the results until Oct 13th.
- We both took a B1.1 intensive German course in September – note the word intensive. We learned much and moved forward in our language, but got behind in many other areas of life. It was humbling to be in class with a Caldean Christian couple from Iraq who have recently sought refuge here in Vienna.
- Our team is thinking through how to do evangelism in our context here – both with long time Vienna residents as well as with the immigrant population. We are so glad that Jim and Brenda Brosch are back in Vienna to help with this project!
- Lori will travel to Moscow for 12 days starting October 16th with Brenda Brosch and a team from Denton. They will be teaching woman as well as conducting assessments of needs in the churches there.
- Tim is working on how to get the new Religious Visa that is available to us now that the Evangelical Churches are recognized by the Austrian government.
- Our church is going through the Apostle’s Creed. Tim is helping to lead these discussions in small group, and continues to lead the men’s prayer group.

- Praise God with us for all the encouragement and motivation we received through our visitors.
- Continue to pray for language acquisition for us and all our team mates.
- Pray we can continue our relationship with our new Iraqi friends we met in language school.
- Pray with diligence for us to find a way for Jim and Brenda Brosch to stay here in Vienna long term. They have such great ministry here!
- Pray for Lori as she transitions onto the Board at ICSV.
- Pray for Lori and Brenda and the team from Denton to minister with humility to the church in Russia.
- PLEASE PRAY as we consider recruiting a team from Denton Bible Church for the 2015 Children's Camp at our church.
- PLEASE PRAY we would continue to have faith in his sovereignty as we seek to honor him in our ministry activities
Save the Date for the 2015 DBC Missions Conference!
We will be traveling to the States mid-December and returning to Austria in mid-February. We would love to see each of you individually and/or at the conference.
