Prayer Letter September 2013
Upcoming travel (Can you help with a vehicle? See Below)
If you remember, our daughter Michelle recently had a
difficult delivery with our precious Granddaughter, Elisabeth. Michelle’s twin sister Sarah has the same
blood condition and is expecting her first baby in October with the real
possibility of similar complications.
Therefore, on October 10th Lori will be traveling to the
United States to in the hopes of being there for the birth of our 4th
grandchild. Pray
for a complication free delivery, a healthy baby and a healthy Mom.
Tim, along with Matt Eck, will be visiting several countries to explore ministry opportunities before joining Lori in the US on October 29th. Matt and Tim will be in Moscow on Oct. 11th – 15th to meet with pastors from the former Soviet bloc countries, in Slovakia on May 18th and in the Czech Republic on May 19th. Pray we will be able to discern needs in leadership training we can help meet.
Tim and Lori return to Vienna together on November 14th. We have been blessed with a great place to stay in Denton, but are still in need of a vehicle from October 11th through November 14th. Please let us know if you can help with this need. With the baby being born in Dallas, we more than likely will be taking several trips to Dallas each week; we also plan to go to Houston and Austin while in the States and would love to use this borrowed vehicle for this as well. Pray with us that this need will be met.
We are excited to get to see as many of you as possible during our time in the states and are in the process of planning a get together. Watch for more details to come!

Learning Language....all about relationships!
Last month we asked you to pray for language partners for us and
God has provided abundantly! The Language Department of the University of Vienna has a place to post your interest in partnering with someone who would like to learn English. You become Tandem language partners, helping each other with language acquisition in a more relaxed and natural setting. We signed up, had a great response, and are really enjoying it!
Lori is meeting with three language partners and Tim with two. We have met them in traditional Viennese coffee houses or other local meeting places. This has given us a great opportunity to relax, help them with their English, listen to German from a native German speaker while expanding our skills. Lori’s language partners want to continue meeting via Skype even when in the states, so real relationships are being formed. Pray with us that God will use these relationships to expand our knowledge of culture and language, build friendships, and as an avenue to further His Gospel. |
Church News!
We have mentioned that since arriving in Vienna we have been attending two churches on a fairly regular basis. One of them is German only speaking and is a great help to us as we delve into culture and language learning. They are also a wonderful encouragement to us as they exemplify doing church in community. The other church is a church that has the sermon in English and it is interpreted into German. This church gives us more immediate fellowship and some needed nurturing because we are spoken to in our heart language. Yesterday we spent the day on an outing to an apple orchard with this church. Enjoy the photos below.
